Crosspell ("we," "us," or "our") is a real-time multiplayer word game available on iOS. We take your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.

Information We Collect

We collect only the minimum information necessary to operate the game:

• Account data — If you sign in, we store your email address and display name to identify your account.
• Gameplay data — Game scores, board states, match history, and tile placements are stored to run multiplayer matches and calculate results.
• Device information — Basic device info (OS version, device type) used for crash reporting and compatibility.
• Usage data — Anonymous analytics on how features are used (e.g., how often Quick Match is tapped) to improve the game.

We do not collect your location, contacts, photos, or any sensitive personal information.

How We Use Your Information

The information we collect is used to:

• Run and synchronize real-time multiplayer matches
• Save your game progress and match history
• Diagnose crashes and fix bugs
• Improve game performance and features
• Prevent cheating and abuse

We do not use your data for advertising or marketing to third parties.

Firebase & Third-Party Services

Crosspell uses Google Firebase (Firebase Realtime Database and Firebase Authentication) to power multiplayer functionality. Firebase may collect and process data in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy.

• Firebase Realtime Database — stores game state for live matches
• Firebase Authentication — manages sign-in (if applicable)

Data Retention

Game data (boards, scores, match history) is retained for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data and game history are deleted within 30 days.

Anonymous analytics data may be retained for up to 12 months to identify trends and improve the game.

Children's Privacy

Crosspell is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten")
• Opt out of non-essential data collection

Security

We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (TLS/HTTPS) and Firebase's built-in security rules. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, but we take every reasonable precaution.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top. Continued use of Crosspell after changes constitutes acceptance of the new policy.
